<p>The missile sirens here wail like a haunting chorus, warning us to scurry to the nearest bomb shelter. Here in Petach Tikva we are 48 miles away- as the missile flies- from Gaza City. Thus, we have 90 seconds to get to a bomb shelter before a missile launched from Gaza could hit us. Israel&rsquo;s Iron Dome is a highly accurate anti-missile system and has saved many lives. But Iron Dome is not 100% effective. Some missiles get through.</p> <p>It happened in the neighborhood next to us, just a few days ago. A Hamas missile got through Iron Dome and exploded an apartment building only 1.3 miles away from me. I had walked in front of the unlucky building earlier that week, dropping off my 7-year-old daughter at a playdate. With missile strikes so close and Iron Dome explosions overhead, one&rsquo;s brain repeats the question: Will we be the unlucky ones in the next missile attack?
