We are always free to fly away…and back ( a post off topic)

I took this photo when I was leaving Rio de Janeiro to go to Recife for my PhD fieldwork. It is true that Rio is probably the most gorgeous city on the planet ( not the most magic which -personally- I think it is Paris) but this not the point of this picture. While I was looking at the city from my seat on the jet plane I realized how small we are and at the same time how powerful we can be. Yes, we are teeny tiny beings on this planet and our sole existance makes barely no difference to the biosphere or to the planet itself. Conversely, how powerful we can be! Our will can change the universe! We cannot fly but we can build an iron bird and fly over lands and oceans.
