The Pomodoro Technique was not, contrary to popular belief, invented by a tomato. It was, however, inspired by one.

Francesco Cirillo, an Italian university student in the late 1980s, was struggling with his studies. As a solution, he grabbed a tomato-shaped kitchen timer (because why not?), set it for 25 minutes, and decided to work intensely for that duration. After the timer rang, he took a short break.

And voila! The Pomodoro Technique was born.
