Unlock the Poetic Symphony

Think of poetry as a sensory symphony. Each phrase, like a note, dances through the air and brushes against your skin. As smells and aromas titillate your senses, the vision conjures up vivid pictures in your head. In our newly updated tier1magazine, especially in our captivating section, tier1serenade, we specifically strive to explore the enchantment of poetry.

In poetry, the five senses join us on a voyage of feelings and concepts. In poetry, we use these senses to create vivid, evocative language, much as we do in reality, where we use sight, hearing, touch, taste, and smell to understand the world.

With sight, we may use words to express beautiful visual pictures. We create melodies using sound that the reader can hear. Touch in poetry refers to the emotional impact that words can have in addition to bodily feelings. Poetic taste gives our verses flavor, while poetic smell stirs up memories of certain aromas and feelings. Poetry becomes an expressive symphony when these senses come together in perfect harmony.

Let’s now venture into the world of haiku poetry. This poetic style, which originated in Japan, is elegant and calming for the soul.

A three-line poem with a syllable structure of 5–7–5 is known as a haiku. It depicts a scene, an emotion, or a moment in just 17 syllables.

Haiku’s origins can be found in ancient Japan, where poets first created “hokku” as the first stanza of a longer group of poetry. Hokku transformed into the modern solitary Haiku over time.
