Um, Who Exactly Is the PlayStation Portal For?

In a week when Gamescom is supposed to be all about stellar announcements, the main one that Sony wanted to focus on was its PlayStation Portal, a new handheld device that will launch later this year for the price of $200.

You’ve already heard a few whispers about this device, I’m betting; and you’ve seen the photos, which have turned out to be real. This essentially looks like a portable screen fused between two ends of a PlayStation DualSense controller, making it look even more fragile than something as huge as the Steam Deck.

But, upon reading the specs on the device, I’m trying to figure out who would benefit the most from it. Now, it has a nice screen, along with a headphone jack, and it enables connected Remote Play to your PlayStation 5. So, say, if you wanted to sit on your patio and play God of War: Ragnarok, you could do so, provided your device was connected properly.
