It’s Getting Difficult To Live On My Pension In Mexico

<p>This morning I went to the fancy grocery store in town called City Market. They have several restaurants and gourmet foods, in addition to more basic grocery items.</p> <p>I don&rsquo;t have a car, so I usually take taxis or walk around town. The taxi prices have gone up in the eight years that I&rsquo;ve lived here, but they are still much cheaper than taxis in the USA.</p> <p>The taxi ride to the store was 89 pesos and 80 pesos to come home. These are the current rates for taking a taxi within the city limits. In the last couple of days, we have been getting about 16.9 pesos to the US dollar.
