Are We Living in an Age of Pagan Christianity?
<p>Many modern Christians resemble the pagans of ancient Rome. Like the pagans, they try to appease, ingratiate, or manipulate their God.</p>
<p>That’s one of the arguments in seminary professor <a href="https://www.seminary.edu/faculty/nijay-gupta/" rel="noopener ugc nofollow" target="_blank">Nijay Gupta</a>’s new book, “<a href="https://bakerbookhouse.com/products/542823" rel="noopener ugc nofollow" target="_blank">Strange Religion</a>.” As I listened to him discuss the book on the <a href="https://www.holypost.com/holy-post-podcast/episode/2bac4726/604-faulty-foot-washing-and-pagan-christianity-with-nijay-gupta" rel="noopener ugc nofollow" target="_blank">Holy Post podcast</a>, I couldn’t help but agree with the broad similarities between superstitious pagan religion and many modern Christians.</p>
<p>Much of modern Christianity displays the pagan impulse to manipulate God to our benefit.</p>
