McKinsey and Co., a prominent consulting firm, has reached a $78 million settlement to resolve allegations that its work with pharmaceutical companies, notably Purdue Pharma, contributed to the national opioid addiction crisis.
This settlement, pending judicial approval, was disclosed in federal court documents in San Francisco.
The agreement outlines the creation of a fund by McKinsey to reimburse insurers, private benefit plans, and others for certain costs related to prescription opioids.
