I don’t want to manage people.
There I said it.
I don’t want to be a director. I don’t want to sit in meetings all day. I don’t want to be on call at 9 pm. I don’t want to work weekends.
Oh and whilst we're at it, I don’t want to commute 2 hours to work, or have to wear suit trousers, or network in the evening.
I thought I was destined for a life of emptiness, a constant battle of expectations until I had a name for this desire:
