Nicola Sturgeon, Courting Populism, And The Trans-Rape Prison Fiasco

The UK is currently in the throes of dealing with a complicated rape case, one causing a Jekyll and Hyde response from the assembled populace. This is all par for the course for the United Kingdom in the troubled 21st Century.

On the one hand, we’ve caught and imprisoned a rapist, no bad thing for sure.

But we’ve put her in the wrong prison or perhaps put her in the right prison. Although if you speak to some people we’ve put him in the right prison now. We’re now at the cutting edge of where the black-and-white clouds of the legal profession meets the rainbow of social engineering.

And it’s causing a storm.

Now before we start talking about Isla Bryson there’s the matter of how to write this sort of article without getting into perpetual trouble with everyone.

Given I generally take a zero-fucks given centrist position on most issues I suspect I’ll be in trouble with everyone anyway. Even so, it pays to lay your cards on the table in the first instance.

I will be using female pronouns because I’m a liberal and I think people can choose their own pronouns. I happen to believe this is true even if they’re double rapists — which Isla Bryson happens to be. It could be she is a manipulative sociopath but I can’t prove this — so with no evidence to the contrary I’ll stick to her chosen pronouns.
