Fur Trade On The New “Dark Celebration” LP, Metallica, DLR & More — “Paltrocast” Exclusive | Paltrocast With Darren Paltrowitz | NewsBreak Original

Fur Trade — the ambitious, pop-twisting duo of Steve Bays and Parker Bossley — have returned following a nearly ten-year absence, and put simply, they’re ready for the party. The duo’s Dark Celebration is a ten-song tell-all of happiness and heartbreak, as released last month via Light Organ Records. The album’s opening “Monaco” finds Bays singing about writer’s block, perhaps speaking to the decade-long gap between Fur Trade’s 2013 self-titled debut and this sophomore follow-up. But that is not to say that Bays and Bossley have been out of the game, entirely.

Within that 10-year gap between full-length albums for Fur Trade, Steve Bays spent time with supergroups Mounties and Left Field Messiah, in addition to a reunited Hot Hot Heat, while Parker Bossley was part of both The Gay Nineties and the aforementioned Hot Hot Heat. Behind the scenes, studio and/or writing credits for the two over the last decade or so also include Said The Whale, Steve Aoki, Diplo, Fitz & The Tantrums, Hotel Mira and Sleepy Tom.
