Integration and/or New Paradigms

I am currently working to learn Spanish in one of the most patient places in the world; the Sacred Valley, Peru (yes, that is really the name). I liken this process to a mother carrying her child and gently nudging the babbles toward word pronunciation only for me, the mother is the community of this sacred valley perched among the generous and fertile Andean mountains that continuously provide for its people. Motherly. There could be no better place to fumble through the awkward grammatical errors because shame seems like an absent cousin that prefers to stay in the more capitalistic cultures I’ve been living in. An emotion that I barely remember since being in Peru. I could be wrong about this, but I find social vulnerability feels safer here. Real feels normal. Real faces. Real bodies. Real life issues. Real flaws. Real as normal and real as beautiful.
