Navigating the storm
<p>In the wake of recent events, such as the removal of Claudine Gay as Harvard University President due to accusations of antisemitism and plagiarism, reflections on personal experiences in higher education come to light.</p>
<p>My journey through a higher education boarding school paralleled some of these challenges, though not identical in nature. While not facing accusations of antisemitism or plagiarism, my struggles were rooted in the resistance to diversity within the institution.</p>
<p>At the time, the school’s leadership seemed averse to embracing diversity, and being perceived as a threat, attempts were made to hinder my progress. It wasn’t an easy path, but with the support of my mother and others around me, I managed to overcome the obstacles and graduate.</p>
