Nancy Pelosi Announced That She Is Running For Re-Election

Politico is reporting that Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) has announced that she is running for re-election in 2024. I find myself praying for the first time in decades:

Our Father who art in Heaven, hallowed be thy name; thy Kingdom come; thy will be done; on earth as it is in heaven. And please, please don’t let Nancy Pelosi run for Speaker again.

Like many elderly politicians (I’m lookin’ at you, Joey Biden), Pelosi, who is 83, is unable to step aside and pass the scepter to a younger generation. She refuses to give up power.

Yes, it seemed that she gave up a lot of power when she stepped down as Speaker in 2022, but we all know that she has been working just as hard as ever behind the scenes.

Hakeem Jeffries (D-N.Y.), her hand-picked successor as House Democratic Leader, has my sympathy. I’m sure that he hasn’t had an easy time of it constantly being nagged by an old white woman.

And ya gotta feel sorry for Pelosi’s daughter, Christine, who wants to run for her mother’s seat if only her mother would retire already. Yes, you heard that right. Pelosi is screwing her own daughter by running for re-election.

Then there are the politicians who want to run for the state senate in California to replace State Sen. Scott Wiener who would also like to run for Pelosi’s seat in the seemingly remote event that she ever retires.

It’s a chain reaction. No one can move up as long as Pelosi refuses to do the right thing and retire.

Website
