Your Firsts Were My Firsts
<p>Ithought I was pretty well-versed on LGBTQ+ matters.</p>
<p>I had worked at an AIDS resource center that branched off into our local LGBT Life Center.</p>
<p>I had friends from all over the rainbow spectrum.</p>
<p>So when my son came to me and came out, I felt pretty self-assured that I would get this right (in parenting, those opportunities don’t come often, right?).</p>
