My Feet Hurt From Putting Myself In Other People’s Shoes

I have tried to shove my feet in others’ Jimmy Choos. They are uncomfortable and based only on making a good impression and keeping up with appearances. I have worn others’ old, sweaty running shoes with holes in the soles that somebody should have discarded years ago, like the secrets they keep.

The pain in my foot’s sole is unbearable. Being a therapist for mental health, I spend my entire day attentively listening to the difficulties faced by others. It is truly an honor, and I have a great passion for this profession. I am not expressing any discontentment. As a mother, I empathize with the perspectives of my children, as well as those of my loved ones and friends.

My feet hurt. I examine my feet. I used to have the cutest feet. My baby toe on my left foot is misshapen and bending. Is that a hammertoe? I have to wear orthotics. It sucks. I wish I could wear my high heels. I used to rock stilettos.
