Moontrain Review

Heya folks, Shaun here and I’m back with a new review! In this one, I’m covering an indie point and click adventure game called Moontrain by Dragonseye and Dragonseye Limited. A big thank you goes out to the developer and publisher for the chance to cover the game, it’s much appreciated, thank you!

Moontrain is a point and click adventure game that follows a private investigator who is tasked with locating a missing person. Their last known whereabouts was on a train called Moontrain. The moontrain operates at night and it’s a place that grants its passengers immortality. Also, many of the characters in the game are anthropomorphic animals. It’s a very strange game.

The game is filled to the brim with puzzles to solve. If you’ve seen my past livestream or my highlight, you’ll have noticed that there are puzzles during the cutscenes even. As much as I absolutely love solving puzzles in adventure games, I will admit that having so many over the course of the game with little to no breaks in-between them, makes the game feel a bit… oversaturated with them.

I will say that the game’s puzzles start off pretty simple, but they get progressively more difficult and complex the further you get in the game. The hint button is also a bit spotty in what help it provides as well. Some puzzles it helps you right along but others it doesn’t really give you an indicator of what you’re supposed to be doing which leads to some confusion.

Learn More
