Speaking of the Santa Monica Mountains

<p>The Temescal Canyon Trail, which Claire called Temescula, Pieter called Temescal, and I called a hike, was not made for children, or dogs.</p> <p>Here my own etymological wilderness is stretched and dried. Where it&rsquo;s hard to imagine water, it&rsquo;s hard to imagine growth before death.
