Harm Reduction, an Interview with Michael Galipeau
<p>Michael Galipeau is a harm reduction advocate, community educator, and peer engagement specialist. He is the current Executive Director and a co-founder of the <a href="https://www.facebook.com/RhodeIslandUsersUnion/" rel="noopener ugc nofollow" target="_blank">Rhode Island User’s Union</a>, which is an affiliate of a national organization called the <a href="http://ncurbansurvivorunion.org/" rel="noopener ugc nofollow" target="_blank">Urban Survivors Union</a>, and which is effectively a community of people who have been adversely affected by the ‘war on drugs’, by the stigma regarding substance use, xor by the actual use of controlled substances. Mikey was propelled into his current role through his own lived experiences. As with any human, there is a long and compelling origin story that we’ll touch on here, but no matter how good it is, no journalism can contain the audacity of life.</p>
