Meet Tripod — The Rocky Balboa of Mule Deer
<p>“Oh, goodness! My heart is breaking! Can you do something?” Her voice echoed the pain in her heart.</p>
<p>My wife stood at our front door, looking out the window at a sorrowful sight. A young mule deer was walking across our street, going from our neighbour’s lush lawn and aiming for the buffet of summer flowers below our front porch — he was dragging a hind leg, broken and completely lame. It looked horrible and couldn’t have been pleasant for the deer, but he seemed not to mind.</p>
<p>His gait was unsteady, drifting right to left with each step, but the animal walked across to our yard head down and large brown eyes up.</p>
