In Tantra, Devi, or Mother Divine, is the nature of Sat-Chit-Ananda. According to Vaishnavs, Vishnu is the nature of Sat-Chit-Ananda. According to Shaivites, Shiva is the nature of Sat-Chit-Ananda. Different names and forms pointing to the One Reality which is of the nature of Sat-Chit-Ananda.

Just as the two atoms of inflammable Hydrogen and one atom of non-combustible Oxygen in whose presence the combustible inflames have come together to become the neutral water in the river, water in the wave, water in the ocean, water in snow, water in the mountains; similarly Sat-Chit-Ananda Itself has become the Universe with all phenomenal names and forms. If there was no vision, then these names and forms would have been pointless. If there were no names and forms, vision would have been pointless.
