In 2016, Landais participated in Global Game Jam, and in just 48 hours created a fun and unique prototype that would serve as the basis for the studio’s first game. The prototype was praised by players and media alike, and Landais focused her efforts on finishing the game and starting up Accidental Queens. Along the way, Houali came on board and the studio managed to earn over 10K€ to complete their game, and even signed a publishing deal. Their first project, A Normal Lost Phone, was well received upon its release and led to the official formation of Accidental Queens in mid-2017. “It was exciting seeing the reception from players, and I was glad that the game’s message resonated with players,” said Landais.
