What I learnt and experienced doing my Master’s degree

I learned and experienced a lot during my master’s. It was a crazy, fun journey from start to finish, and honestly, I really enjoyed it. When speaking to some of the younger students in my department or simply thinking back to my younger self, I remember the fear I felt. A master’s seemed so imposing, and starting it out, I felt I was dragging a massive weight on my back. The thing is, most of that stress was self-inflicted, and if I had known what I do now, and just not stressed so much, I’d probably have had a few fewer sleepless nights. This is a very personal set of experiences, most websites and blogs already tell you you need to learn how to read an academic journal, learn to better manage your time, be organised, don’t be afraid to ask for help, and while I may touch on these things they are not the main focus of this article, in fact I tried to be a little different in my approach to this article, and specifically focus on only the things that really jumped out to me.
