Chicago Marathon Breaks Records, Literally!

The Windy City recently lived up to its name by blowing away not just leaves, but also marathon records. On a crisp Sunday morning, the Chicago Marathon bore witness to Kenya’s Kelvin Kiptum, who decided to break the men’s reality long-distance race record, and boy, did he do it in style! Kiptum dashed through the 26.2-mile course in a lightning-fast 2 hours, 35 seconds, thereby shattering Eliud Kipchoge’s previous record of 2:01:09. Move over Kipchoge, Kiptum just proved he’s the new marathon master!

But wait, that’s not the only piece of history that was rewritten on that sunny Chicago day. Sifan Hassan from the Netherlands grabbed her moment of glory by winning the women’s division in an astounding time of 2:13:44. She not only claimed victory but also managed to break Brigid Kosgei’s 2:14:04 course record. It’s almost like they were in a race to see who could break the most records!
