Macon is a Knight city and the Knight Foundation announced $14M in city projects — of which $5M is for Macon news expansion.</p>

<p>The news project involves Mercer U., and its Macon Newsroom program. It partners in the National Trust for Local News and the Courier Herald Publishing Group.</p>
<p>The National Trust has Georgia interests beyond this project under the name Georgia Trust for Local News, and those details are still to come.</p>
