PlayStation Stars is a loyalty program that was released around September-October of last year, depending on which region you reside in.
It wasn’t too clear at first what kind of rewards the player should expect to receive, but it has become apparent since launch that there are two types:
- Digital collectibles can be displayed on virtual shelves in the PlayStation app.
- Points can be exchanged for PS store credit, games, and more digital collectibles.
Unfortunately, neither of these is really enticing enough for players to continue checking the app for new campaigns. The problem is that the points required for store credit/games are too high, the challenges aren’t very exciting and the digital collectibles seem a bit pointless.
