The Lonely Dublin: How to thrive in the absence of connection

Out of the cities I’ve visited, Dublin is the loneliest. Maybe because it’s such a busy city, and I was alone when exploring it for the first time.

My itinerary was simple: see the city center. Visit the botanic garden. Take a tour around Dublin Castle. Rest at Christ Church Cathedral. Visit Guinness Storehouse. Stroll through Grafton street, see Molly Malone Statue and St. Stephen’s Green. Buy fish and chips, if time allowed. Next day, get out of the city, go to Glendalough, see what’s with all the fuss.

My first impression upon crossing the River Liffey was, holy shit, so many people. The buildings were tall and there were so many people.
