LICENCE TO THRILL: Indistinguishable Fake-IDs Flood Victoria
<p>A new wave of fake-IDs, almost indistinguishable from legitimate Victoria Road issued probationary driver’s licences, have flooded Victoria in recent months.</p>
<p>The new IDs have very minimal defects and work effectively passing through “ScanTek” systems — the ID verification software used by a vast number of clubs in Melbourne. ScanTek’s website boasts “instant identity verification,” using digital automation and AI technology to match a person’s face to their photos.</p>
<p>However, the ScanTek systems are unable to detect illegitimate IDs printed with the minor’s actual face.</p>
