A bizarre series of events transpired as thousands of gallons of strong, undiluted whisky were dumped into the streets, causing a river of alcohol to flow through the city. This strange tragedy took a darker turn when the very thing that was supposed to provide the citizens with warmth and cheer turned out to be a deadly elixir, resulting in the deaths of 13 people from alcohol poisoning.<br />
