SF/NYC Are Hellholes More Because Of Cost Of Living Than “Liberalism”
<p>In terms of my bonafides here, I grew up in NYC, then lived there another four years as an adult. My parents still live there. When people ask me why I <em>don’t </em>live there, I typically say something about the cost of living.</p>
<p>As for San Francisco, I have been there twice. Once was for work, which was nice and fun. The other time I was trying to get laid, and I failed miserably at that. That trip was less fun.</p>
<p>Most of the arguments around the “decline” of these cities focus on liberalism in some way, much as the arguments around the parenting of girls focuses on that:</p>
