Medium Helped Give This LGBTQ Advocate the Best Holiday Gift Ever
<p>To say I struggle with the winter holiday season is an understatement. I love festivity and celebration, and I have a deep cultural reverence for Christmas traditions of love, charity, light, warmth, and family.</p>
<p>But I don’t have any family, a circumstance tons of older LGBTQ people share with me, especially those of us who lost so many loved ones to HIV. So, sometimes I wish I could just spend the time between Thanksgiving and New Year’s sleeping — that I could wake up after everyone else has finished with their warm family times and not be reminded of what I’m missing.</p>
