This had to do, for one, with the adverse conditions of the procedure: voter disenchantment, lack of time and financial resources, and cold temperatures despite a traditionally red-hot political climate in the capital. For another, it was due to the glaring absence of strategy and creativity.

CDU nevertheless emerged as the clear winner, gaining 10 percentage points and 28% of the vote.

One of its candidates for State Parliament was Inga Frohmann. The 38-year-old mother of a young daughter, who works as advisor and chief of staff in the Bundestag, kindly shared her views on the campaign with us.
