The End of An Era — Macy’s to Leave Crenshaw

<p>The&nbsp;<a href="https://www.usatoday.com/story/money/business/2023/01/06/macys-closing-stores-latest/11002930002/" rel="noopener ugc nofollow" target="_blank"><strong>news</strong></a>&nbsp;that Macy&rsquo;s is shutting down operations at its Baldwin Hills Crenshaw Plaza location in Los Angeles has me feeling some kind of way. I should&rsquo;ve known something was up when they didn&rsquo;t even bother putting up their gigantic holiday wreath that usually overlooks MLK Jr. Blvd.</p> <p>For quite some time now, I have watched the life slowly squeezed out of that mall. I think it started with the exodus of Walmart in 2016, followed by Sears just three years later. It also didn&rsquo;t help that nearby malls like the Fox Hills Mall (and yes, I meant to say Fox Hills Mall) and the Beverly Hills adjacent Beverly Center continued to benefit from new stores, while the Baldwin Hills mall did not.</p> <p><a href="https://medium.com/@jcannick/the-end-of-an-era-macys-to-leave-crenshaw-ad225e9bc1e"><strong>Visit Now</strong></a></p>
