Revisiting The 5 Ps of Leadership Journey

ncept of the five levels of leadership was introduced by John C. Maxwell in his book “The 5 Levels of Leadership: Proven Steps to Maximize Your Potential”. He presented the same through 5 Ps.

According to Maxwell, these five levels of leadership represented a different stage in a leader’s development.

Here are the 5 Ps of leadership journey:

1. Position: The first level of leadership is based on position or title. At this level, people follow the leader because they have to, not because they want to. Leaders at this level have the authority to give orders and make decisions, but they may not have earned the respect and trust of their team.

2. Permission: The second level of leadership is based on relationships. At this level, people follow the leader because they like and trust them. Leaders at this level focus on building positive relationships with their team and creating a supportive and inclusive work environment.

3. Production: The third level of leadership is based on results. At this level, people follow the leader because of what they have accomplished. Leaders at this level focus on achieving results and setting high standards for themselves and their team.

Visit Now
