Living with Food Allergies: Miami & Florida Keys edition

<p>Iam one of the 32 million people in the United States who deal with food allergies. For a long time, I didn&rsquo;t even know I had food allergies &mdash; I just thought it was normal to feel a little crummy after eating. It wasn&rsquo;t until I was in my 30&rsquo;s that I figured it out after I had a severe allergic reaction out of nowhere to almonds.</p> <p>Traveling with food allergies is really hit or miss, and finding safe places to eat can range from being an annoying experience to a downright frightening one. Finding allergy-friendly places in the Keys kind of sucked, but thankfully it wasn&rsquo;t all bad and I did get to have some delicious seafood and signature key lime pie. Before I started out on my trip, I called scores of restaurants throughout Miami, Key Largo, Key West, and Islamorada.
