The Worst Book About Silicon Valley I’ve Ever Reviewed
<p><em>My first reaction to </em>The Accidental Billionaires<em> was: “This book is utterly without redeeming social value.” That may have been too harsh.</em></p>
<p><em>I recently went back to Ben Mezrich’s bizarre Facebook origin story, which I’d reviewed in 2009, while doing research for a forthcoming @Medium roundup of books about Silicon Valley. In hindsight I realized that the book may have a social value apart from any merits of the </em><a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Social_Network#:~:text=It%20won%20three%20for%20Best,Mixing%2C%20and%20Best%20Adapted%20Screenplay." rel="noopener ugc nofollow" target="_blank"><em>much-honored movie</em></a><em> it inspired, “The Social Network”: </em>The Accidental Billionaires <em>could cheer you up on a day when you think, “Nobody could write worse than I do.”</em></p>
