Queer and Trans Folk: America’s New Interstate Refugees

<p>Local media outlets are spitting out the news blasts faster than I can type. Recently released data indicates that progressive policies aimed at protecting queer and trans rights have made my home state of Oregon a refuge for families and individuals scrambling to distance themselves from systemic, state-imposed intolerance.</p> <p>While nearly 500 anti-LGBTQ bills were being proposed in Republican-majority state houses, Oregon was trending in a more positive and supportive direction.
