Introducing Bidirectional Negotiation to the World of Autonomous Driving: Biologically Inspired Model

Autonomous driving, being the most challenging artificial intelligence (AI) problem of this decade, is an active area of modern research. Autonomous vehicles often have to negotiate not just unstructured environmental conditions, but also unpredictable obstacles — where each such obstacle is an agent with its own behaviour model.

Autonomous driving, even in the scenarios where a robust probabilistic function or a model of the behaviour of obstacles, or that of agents representing the obstacles, is available, along with strict projection (mathematical) of, or superposition of (in mathematical functional form), strict traffic rules, remains an active area of research, both in terms of theoretical and experiment research paradigms.
