Spider-Man 2: Seven things to improve on the incredible original

Insomniac Games’ 2018 Spider-Man, aka Spider-Man PS4, was one of the most successful games on the PlayStation 4. Since its release, Spider-Man has had a three-episode DLC pack, a standalone expansion where we play as Miles Morales, and a PC port which will be released in August.

Spider-Man was my favourite release on the PS4. I have put multiple playthroughs on the original game and Spider-Man: Miles Morales. However when it was first announced I didn’t have much interest and I don’t know why.

Spider-Man is one of my favourite superheroes. From comics to TV, film and games I have enjoyed most stories told about the web-head, but for some reason, the new game didn’t spark an interest. Thankfully, as more trailers were released and gameplay was shown, my interest grew and it became my favourite game of 2018.

Spider-Man 2 was announced on September 9th 2021 with a reveal trailer and is scheduled to be released in 2023 for PlayStation 5. While there are few details at the moment, we do know that both Miles and Peter will play a significant role, we will have plenty of well-known Spider-Man villains, most notably Venom and Kraven, and that, like its predecessor, it will be an entirely single player game.
