A Letter to the Impatient

Slumping over a chair and staring at a screen.

You look and sound tired. No, you are tired. You are working and working towards your goal. You could be a student, an engineer, a stay-at-home mom, a writer, a freelancer, an entrepreneur, or anything else.

This is a human experience that leaves no one out.

You, right now, may be at a dip in life. Luckily, you’ve grown enough not to think you can’t handle the needed tasks. That’s a win.

What’s not so hot is the fact that it can get tiring. It can start to be repetitive, and a bit much. Your progress seems ever slow. Your brain seems full halfway through the first step.

What makes you the most exhausted is that it seems this stage will last forever. It feels as if you are trying to chop a massive tree down with a tiny metal spoon.

I get it.

You can’t see me right now, but let me paint a picture for you.

I am alone in my room, typing away. My posture is that of a banana, and my legs are getting kinda crampy. Finally, dehydration is probably a thing I should address at this point.

I started working at noon. Now, it is midnight.

I know it isn’t good, and I need to take my own advice. I need to close this laptop and hop to some serious z’s. I will after I finish my point. I promise.
