’s Rainy Day prompt: “How hard is it for you to change your mind about something? Are you stubborn as a mule or easily convinced?”

Mindset

I have a certain mindset of what is right or wrong. I have views about family, life and even world views. I would not say I am stubborn as a mule, but I don’t change my mind too often.

Overall, I am pretty easy going. I am a positive person and someone can certainly reason with me. I know I am not always right, and I am open to constructive criticism.

If something is really bothering me I will write about it in a notebook I keep. If I don’t agree about something I weigh the evidence and consider their view carefully. I strive to be reasonable.

Sometimes we all have to embrace change. I don’t especially like change, but I’ve dealt with a lot of change in my life regarding my health, work and marriage. I am emotionally stronger because of these changes. I set goals for myself that are attainable, sometimes broken down into smaller steps.

My friends and my family are all positive people most of the time. I can’t think of any time recently where we have disagreed, so it has not been necessary for me to change my mind.

If I have some type of problem I usually need some space. I try to get outside with nature to clear my head. If I need to talk to someone it will typically be my husband or my daughter-in-law. She and I are very close. She tends to be in a positive mood most of the time. She is a Christian and she will pray about something before she will give you an opinion. I have found prayer to be very helpful too. My husband is also a Christian who prays about problems or decisions. Life is good!
