My Phone Was Stolen by Children in Buenos Aires Right from the Hotel Restaurant

The day after my arrival in Buenos Aires, I joined the ranks of those who had been robbed in South America, bidding farewell to my phone.

Here’s what happened:

I was sitting in the hotel’s restaurant-coworking space (photo). The hotel’s door to the street is always closed and can be opened from the reception upon request. I was working on my laptop, and my phone was lying nearby. Suddenly, a pair of teenagers, practically children, entered the hotel, selling scarves. I only noticed them when they approached me from behind, offering their “goods.” I immediately pushed them away, but it was too late. At that moment, I found it odd to see such individuals inside a nice restaurant rather than on the street. Within seconds, I realized my phone was missing.
I rushed outside with the hotel staff, who finally noticed something was amiss, but there was no way to catch the kids.
