The Dutch Palace and Hindu Temples

Yesterday I went with my wife and her niece to explore the shops and sights around Jew Town in Fort Cochin. After arriving, the girls soon found a little boutique to browse in. With some time on my hands, I decided to check out the nearby Dutch Palace across the street.

Introduction

Stepping through the palace gates, I was immediately struck by the site’s rich history and religious heritage. The area is brimming with fascinating architecture that blends European and Indian styles. As I examined the palace exterior, my mind wandered to the complex past of this site — a story of power trading hands between different cultures across centuries, yet with religion maintaining a continuous presence throughout.
