Ever Heard of ESG? If You’ve Got a 401k, You Need to Read This?
<p>A friend and I were recently having a discussion about politics and he mentioned “ESG.” He asked if I had ever heard of this and I had not. There are so many crazy things happening in the world politically that I’ve tried to scale back on some of it because it can really mess your mental health after a while.</p>
<p>I am however, and investor and someone who likes to stay informed. After our discussion, he sent me an interview explaining what ESG is. Basically it stands for Environmental, Social Governance. Sounds like a typical buzzword. As I dug in, I realized it is actually the driving force behind much of the cohesive decision making that has been happening “for” us instead of “by” us over the last couple of years.</p>
