A Michigan Hair Salon, the Supreme Court, and the Specter of Things to Come
<p>In the seemingly never-ending barrage of disturbing news that we get every single day, every so often something comes across my computer screen that makes me even more despairing about the state of American politics and of the state of queer rights in particular. You can imagine my dismay when, skimming the news, <a href="https://www.advocate.com/business/michigan-salon-bigoted-owner-lgbtq" rel="noopener ugc nofollow" target="_blank">I heard about a salon owner in Michigan who has decided that, in the wake of <em>Creative LLC v. Elenis</em></a><em>, </em>she no longer has to serve trans and other queer people, though she will continue to cater to the L, the G, and the B. So convinced is she of moral righteousness that she took to her business Facebook to announce this fact (though she later took it down).</p>
