Perpetual Poverty and McGill Graduate Students

<p>Just last January 2023, two historians wrote an insightful article about the reality and poverty of pursuing graduate work in a history department, including at McGill, a Canadian university. Will Langford of Dalhousie University and Catherine Carstairs of the University of Guelph wrote, &ldquo;The high cost of inadequate funding for grad students A recent report on the future of the history PhD shows many students are living below the poverty line.&rdquo; Their article discusses the final report of the Task Force on the Future of the History Ph.D. in Canada, established by the Canadian Historical Association, which has been published.
