When I Got Pied in the Face
<p>If you want to spot a well-established skydiver ask him if he did something specific for the first time. He’ll talk around the topic making sure he denies the question. We don’t fall for them so easily.</p>
<p>Anyhow. Getting back to the topic of pies. While in Namibia you have to jump naked when you do your 100th jump, the most common tradition is to get a pie in your face for your 1000th jump.</p>
<p>One thousand skydives are a hell lot of jumps out of an airplane. For any person. And that has to be rewarded and celebrated. And as far as I know, this tradition is practiced everywhere. From Namibia to Thailand and Germany. I’m sure they do it in the States too.</p>
