How many Gold copies of each Base Set card will there be?

As part of ensuring everything will run smoothly for the Base Set Crate Unlocking Event, we tested the related smart contracts by opening all 400,000 crates on Polygon test nets ten times. Thanks to these test runs, we know that the distribution percentages are working well, and we can share these geeky numbers with you.

All the randomness involved in our Events happens on-chain, so it cannot be manipulated by anyone. Not even (especially!) our team. Randomness is determined at the point of unlocking, not before. The contents of the crates are not predetermined, and neither is the number of any specific card. Any crate can contain any card. It’s all down to the randomness.

Common as muck

The cards in the Base Set crates are NFT versions of the free cards we give everyone. As a result, they are all equal in terms of Rarity, all being Common cards. This compares to the Transcendent Set, where cards differ in number due to their Rarity.

This results in there being six times as many individual Common cards in the Base Set than in the Transcendent Set. There are 11 Common in the Transcendent Set and 66 Common in the Base Set.
