Glasgow, the people, and the reasons I wanna go back

Last year, I went to Glasgow as an exchange student. It was the best 4 months of my life. The reason why I chose Glasgow as the host university, was a bit blurry. The only thing that I remember was, my feeling that I was so assured to apply for this university. I hadn’t heard a lot about the city or the university, the only thing that I knew was how beautiful the university is. Little did I know, the University of Glasgow is a reputable university in Scotland. Not to mention, the city itself is beautiful. A walkable city consists of a lot of beautiful parks, even though the weather is, you know, typical unpredictable UK weather.

I went there with another 28 Indonesian students, supported by The Government of Indonesia under a program called Indonesian International Student Mobility Awards (IISMA). They are such a diverse and wonderful group of people. There, I learned a lot, not only in the university but also learned a lot from my friend. How they view life, their vision, their value and what keeps them moving forward, and even their past — the dark and the bright ones.
