Girl’s Confidence Gap: Turning Potential into Performance

<p>I have realised that a common issue for girls and young women is not our lack of potential. On the contrary, we have plenty. The underlying issue is the lack of confidence to turn our potential into creative and innovative performance in a society where conforming to established norms seems to be more valued.</p> <p>Figuring out who we are is already a challenge, and being told everyday what we should do and how we should be only adds to the confusion. Reshma Saujani once put it like this:&nbsp;<em>&ldquo;Most girls are taught to avoid failure and risk. To smile pretty, play it safe, get all A&rsquo;s.
